Sleepin During EEG

The last week was a bit unusual. Parker had a seizure on Thursday night. A quick call to 911 resulted in Parker and Julia taking an ambulance ride down to Lakewood Hospital. After dealing with the not-so-friendly Dr.s there, a second call to our Pediatrician had them taking another ambulance ride over to Rainbow for an overnight stay (I followed in our car). A CT scan, and a EEG on Friday didn’t reveal any immediate cause for Parker’s seizure and the Neurologists seem to think it may have been an isolated incident. Parker only has a 25% chance of having another one in his entire lifetime. On a side note: the Neurologist said that Parker was really Advanced for his age and that they couldn’t believe that he was only 7 1/2 months. They noted/observed that he has an immature pincher reflex which is where you can pick up items with just your index finger and thumb. His will probably refine over the next couple weeks… but it’s a skill not usually achieved until 10 months plus.

We were release from Rainbow late Friday. On Saturday Parker went to his last swimming lesson and also went to a play date where he picked up some crawling skills from another baby that was 9 months old. We also went to an infant CPR class that day.

Sunday was a nice quiet day at home. For Father’s day Parker decided to start officially crawling. That was a nice gift. Just the day before he was picking up the skill-set from his girlfriend Gracey, and in 24 hours he started busting out the moves and crawling like a little monkey boy.

Parker really seems to learn best by observing other babies and them mimicking their movements. It makes me think that he has photographic-reflexes.
